Summer Programme at CERN

In summer 2018, CERN will offer several residential programmes for high-school students and their teachers. These summer programmes offer the unique chance to explore the fascinating world of particle physics through lectures, on-site visits, hands-on workshops, and ample opportunities to interact with CERN’s scientific community. The programmes will be delivered entirely in English and are open for participants from around the world.

S'Cool LAB 3d-printable Quadrupole Ion Trap

Are you a high-school teacher, passionate about 3D printing and would like to join the S'Cool LAB team for 4-6 months at CERN?

We are looking for a Teacher in Residence to develop new, easy-to-build hands-on particle physics activities for classroom teaching. For example, a 3D-printable ATLAS magnet model or a quadrupole ion trap (pictured).

Beamline for Schools competition 2018 - apply now



CERN is pleased to announce the 5th edition of the Beamline for Schools competition running in 2018. A fully equipped beamline at CERN will be made available for students from all around the world to carry out their proposed experiments. Besides prizes for the short listed teams, the top prize is a trip to CERN for the two winning teams. The registration for 2018 is already open. The deadline for submitting a proposal is the 31st of March 2018. Dive into the fascinating world of particle physics and participate in this unique once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
