Programme schedule The programme consists of lectures and tutorials, visits of CERN's research facilites, hands-on workshops in S'Cool LAB as well as mini-research projects. The preliminary schedule can be found here.

All participants have to be at least 16 years old at the beginning of the summer camp. The upper age limit is 19 years.

Priority will be given to students coming from CERN's member states. However, applications from students coming from non-member states are also welcome.

Candidates should :

  • have a passion for and strong ability in physics and mathematics as reflected in high school course grades and extracurricular activities.
  • be currently in the final two years of secondary school and have not yet begun full-time studies at a post-secondary institution.
  • intend to pursue studies in science at the university level in the future.
Teachers / parents The S'Cool LAB Summer CAMP is only for students. Teachers or parents cannot accompany the participants.

We want the Summer CAMP to be accessible to students from all backrounds. Therefore, the programme is free of charge for all selected candidates. Travel expenses, accomodation and meals will be covered by CERN. However, you will need some pocket money (we recommend approx. 100 CHF) for the free time and social activities during the weekends.

Language requirements

As the Summer CAMP will be conducted in English, applicants are expected to be fluent at speaking and writing in this language.
